That’s the fullmoon river: Giant spinning ice disk appears on river in Maine

A rare phenomenon in the Presumpscot river has enthralled the city of Westbrook, Maine, when a ‘fullmoon’ of ice suddenly appeared spinning out of nowhere over the stream water.
The massive ice disc drew curious onlookers to the banks of the river. It’s not clear how or exactly when it formed.
According to Tina Radel, the marketing and communications manager for the city, the disc is roughly 100 yards across and is spinning in a counter clockwise direction.

A rare ice formation in the Presumpscot river has enthralled the city of Westbrook in Maine. Drone footage taken by Tina Radel shows an almost 100-metre circle spinning in a counter-clockwise direction. Scientists say the formation of ice discs is rare but natural, but the surreal appearance of the disk has led to speculation of alien intervention.
