Mumbai, August 19: Earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter Scale hit Maharashtra’s Satara district on Saturday night. The epicentre of the quake is not known yet and until this report was first published no report of any casualty has come forward. More details awaited.
Earlier, on June 4, Maharashtra’s Konya region witnessed an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter Scale. With Konya region being the epicentre, the tremors of the quake were felt in Sangli and Kolhapur and few areas of Southern Maharashtra. The depth of the quake was 10km below the ground, reported Times of India.
Mild tremors, on May 20, were felt around Koyana and Patan taluka of Satara district as earthquake had hit the region measuring 208 on the Richter Scale. People in these areas felt the ground shaking for few seconds.
