A strong earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale hit Komandorskiye Ostrova Region, Russia at 7.05pm today.
The Meteorological Department in a statement said the quake’s epicentre was 672km northeast of Petropavlovsk Kamchatskiy, Russia and 7,013km northeast of Kudat, Sabah. No tsunami warning was issued.
