Muscat: An earthquake measuring 5.5 on Richter scale was recorded at the Sultan Qaboos University’s earthquake monitoring centre at around 8pm on Monday 31-10-2016.
An official at the centre said that the earthquake didn’t have any effects on the land.
Meanwhile, the global earthquake centres reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was some 286km SE of Sur and the depth was 10km.
