Sep 5, 2016- Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said on Sunday that he has directed the authorities to enlist those needy of assistance but missing from the list of recipients of post-earthquake reconstruction aid.
Receiving a memorandum from lawmakers from the earthquake-ravaged Sindhupalchok district, PM Dahal said the process to include the left out homeless families had begun.
The all-party delegation also urged Dahal to provide help immediately to the people affected by the earthquakes last year and subsequent incidents of flood and landslide, and to reopen urgently the Araniko Highway and the Tatopani check point on the Nepal-China border.
According to the PM’s Secretariat, the government has started the process to provide a soft loan of Rs300,000 for house reconstruction to each displaced family on top of the Rs200,000 grant.
The lawmakers included Amrit Bohora, Agni Sapkota, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, Sher Bahadur Tamang and Ramesh Lama.
