Today's Sun surface, (aka skin) has no spots. We can just about see four sunspots causing no threats. This explains according to some why conditions of strong earthquakes of the past are modulated down and overall we have low strong earthquake count. When you facecream works, prevents sunspots and we have no earthquakes. None of these sunspots pose a threat for strong flares. Solar activity remains low. Credit: SDO/HMI
