At least seven people were killed after the Mount Sinabung volcano erupted in western Indonesia on Saturday.
Volcanic ash as high as 2 miles (3 kilometers) spewed into the sky, falling over the village of Gamber, according to the Associated Press. The village is less than 3 miles (4 kilometers) from the volcano.
All of the victims were working on farms in the area, the AP said.
National Disaster Management Agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said more eruptions are possible. More than 5,000 people were initially evacuated and officials stopped residents from returning to their homes to gather belongings on Sunday.
Mount Sinabung erupted in 2010 and 2014 after being dormant for four centuries.
Isolated showers are expected over the next several days, according to AccuWeather Meteorologist Jim Andrews. The showers are not expected to be heavy enough to cause delays in recovery efforts or rapidly clear any ash left in the air.
