Prince Harry Gives Royal Fans A Surprise, Shops At Local Supermarket

Britain's Prince Harry observes a pre-positioning site, containing earthquake relief supplies as Nepalese people look on in Bhaktapur, Nepal, March 20, 2016.

Prince Harry was spotted shopping at a supermarket near his flat in the Kensington Palace Sunday. The British royal surprised royal fans when he dropped in to a Waitrose near his flat to buy eggs early in the morning. He seemed to be keeping a low profile in a black baseball call pulled over his eyes and a matching wind jacket the collar of which was kept pulled up.
Although the 31-year-old kept his head down and wore a baseball cap, west London shoppers instantly recognised the Prince. Harry was spotted using the self-service tills at the supermarket. Fans were overjoyed to see the royal shopping for groceries.
Lewis St George-McKenzie, a fellow shopper told how surprised he was to see Harry in the store, speaking to The Sun. “You don’t expect to see a Prince doing his shop at nine in the morning. He had a couple of bags of shopping,” he said. He told the prince looked to have had a “rough night” adding he had seen a few celebs but never royalty.
Another fan shared a picture of the Prince at the till on Twitter, writing: “God love Prince Harry at the self-service till in Waitrose.” However, this is not the first time the fifth-in-line to the British throne has been spotted out and about in the city. He is almost a regular at the Kensington Waitrose, where he has been spotted a number of times by members of the public.
The royal was spotted at a restaurant in Fulham, following England’s World Cup qualification against Poland in October 2013. He has even been pictured on a late-night snack run to chicken chain Nando’s. Meanwhile, Harry recently returned from an official trip to Nepal and shared pictures from his personal albums with fans via Kensington Palace.
Harry had extended his stay in the hilly region and worked on an earthquake relief project. Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson helped Team Rubicon UK charity and the local community rebuild a school devastated by the 2015 earthquake. He also had dinner and stayed with a local family in Leorani village.
