Gerry Brownlee gets new earthquake job title

Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee, left, and Associate Minister Nicky Wagner, right, visit some of the city's rebuild projects with Prime Minister John Key.
The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery portfolio is undergoing a name change but Gerry Brownlee will stay on as minister.
NZ Prime Minister John Key says he has full confidence in Brownlee to do the job at a time when the rebuild is moving into a "new phase".
On Monday, Key announced the portfolio would now be known as the Greater Christchurch Regeneration portfolio – National MP Nicky Wagner remains the Associate Minister.
"The rebuild of Canterbury is one of the most ambitious undertakings in New Zealand's history, and supporting the rebuild remains of one of National's main priorities," Key said.
"The passing of the Greater Christchurch Regeneration Act and the disestablishment of Cera [Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority] marks a new phase in the Canterbury rebuild.
