AN earthquake was recorded in the north of the Fiji Group early this morning.
The 5.2 magnitude earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometres and 640 kilometres north north-west of Yasawa-i-Rara village in Yasawa.
It was 727 kilometres north north-west of Nadi Town and 814 kilometres north north-west of Suva.
A statement from the Mineral Resources Department said it was a moderate size earthquake with shallow depth source location, however there was no felt report received.
