(CNN) - Pictures from space capture smoke from a
volcano eruption in Indonesia.
You can see a plume of smoke from Mount Rinjani
drifting
toward Bali and Java earlier this week.
According to Indonesia's National Disaster Management
Authority, the plume soared nearly 12,000 into space on
Tuesday.
A second image was captured a day later. Volcanic ash in
the area had caused more than a 1,000 flight cancellations
in recent days.
Operations at the airport on Bali resumed on Thursday.
