The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no tsunami threat to Hawai’i following a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in the Solomon Islands.
According to the PTWC, the earthquake occurred Wednesday at 8:31 a.m. Hawai’i time.
United States Geological Survey officials say the earthquake was located 50 miles south-southwest of Dadali, Solomon Islands; 99 miles west-northwest of Honiara, Solomon Islands; 276 miles southeast of Arawa, Papua New Guinea; 533 miles southeast of Kokopo, Papua New Guinea; and 576 miles east of Alotau Papua New Guinea.
