Another day where the sun has not been particularly active. Solar Activity is measured by NASA amongst others, where images like those here for today and every day are given. The interpretation of such images is a long story but they shoy the Solar flares coming out of the Sun, the so called Sunspots, regions of disturbances on the sun surface, and also the particles emitted by the sun with the solar flares which are often of very high energy and this is called Solar Wind. The magnetosphere of the Earth protects us from those particles as it deflects them...(hopefully). OK Today the Planetary K-Index is as low as 2, the solar wind is 430 km/hr, so this is low to quiet. Enjoy your day!
