A 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit Japan's Fukushima & Miyagi prefectures on Wednesday, Japanese media reported.
No tsunami warning has been issued yet, according to The Japan Times.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the earthquake struck just after 3 pm local time on Wednesday.
However, the agency has not issued any tsunami advisory.
Fukushima had been rattled by a magnitude 9 earthquake in 2011 that led to a devastating tsunami, which caused a meltdown in three nuclear reactors at the Fukushima plant.
The meltdown led to a nuclear accident and evacuation of lakhs of people in March 2011.
